It's amazing how we don't talk to each other in the mornings but we still manage to have a common theme tying our outfit choices together! This week we both gravitated towards the darker corners of our wardrobes and wore black. We also both chose to dress in vintage silhouettes - Alex has a more 50s vibe while Michaela is definitely channeling the 60s.

a late afternoon in september

Even though the weather this morning was a little less than ideal it definitely cleared up by the afternoon. By lunchtime the gloomy skies were traded in for September sunshine. Alex dressed for the morning rain while Michaela dressed for the afternoon sun but both looks complimented the unpredictable in-between-season New England weather.

autumn boots & auburn tights

As the summer winds down and autumn temperatures are finally sweeping through New England we wanted to take some of our summer pieces and incorporate them into our autumn wardrobe! We mixed light patterns and light textures with our heavier pieces, such as Alex's blazer or Michaela's leather jacket, with crisp auburn tights (we're wearing the same pair!) and boots. Isn't it interesting to see how pieces that have been paired differently can drastically change a look or even the hue? We thought so!

Even though autumn is our favorite season, we were happy to be able to comfortably tie the two looks together while the seasons are in transition. It's all about the layers!
